The FoodHealth Score is one score to make nutrition simple. It is a personalized 1-100 scoring system powered by bitewell, built specifically to help people identify which foods are best for their unique bodies and goals, with 100 being the highest.
Currently, individuals can access the FoodHealth Score through our grocery retail partners, while shopping in-app, online, and in some cases, in-store. A 1-100 scale simplifies nutrition information, making healthy eating easier to navigate. It enables quick comparisons between products based on their nutritional value, with higher scores highlighting healthier options. This approach promotes more informed decision-making and supports gradual, positive behavior changes.
We have run several internal studies on the score's impact on behavior change and health outcomes. Our score has been externally validated for health outcomes by the Validation Institute. We are FoodMed Certified.
We use both public and private data sources to ensure we have the most up-to-date and accurate information. Data sources include, but are not limited to: Government data, manufacturer data, retail data, and industry data partners.
